Enable Search [enable_search] Field for Product Feed

Controls whether the product can be surfaced in ChatGPT search results.

Required for ChatGPT

The enable_search attribute determines whether a product can appear in ChatGPT’s product search and generative AI listings.
When set to “yes”, it allows your product data to be processed and indexed for AI-powered discovery experiences.

When to use

Use this field when you want your products to be available for conversational discovery in ChatGPT.
If your product feed is intended only for Google Shopping or other destinations, this attribute can remain unset or set to “no”.

  • [enable_search] accepts:
    • true → Product eligible for ChatGPT and partner search visibility.
    • false → Product excluded from ChatGPT or AI indexing.

Format

  • Type: Lower-case string
  • Accepted values: true, false
  • Repeated field: No
  • Schema.org property: Not applicable (AI-only field)

Examples:

FormatExample

Minimum requirements

Note: If omitted, the default behavior is “false” (product will not appear in ChatGPT search results).

  • Use true to allow ChatGPT to surface your product in relevant AI search experiences.
  • Ensure other ChatGPT attributes like [description], [structured_description], and [title] are properly filled.
  • Avoid setting true for incomplete or restricted products.
  • Don’t use promotional or misleading metadata.

SEO / AI Tip

If you enable this field, make sure your product data includes optimized [title], [description], and [image_link].
High-quality and complete metadata improves ranking and selection in AI-powered search experiences.
