Optional, depending on shipping setup
The free_shipping_threshold attribute defines the minimum order cost above which shipping is free for a given country.
When the condition is met, “Free Shipping” may appear in your Shopping ad or listing.
This attribute uses sub-attributes:
- country (Required) – ISO-3166-1 Alpha-2 code (e.g.,
US). - price_threshold (Required) – Fixed order cost above which shipping is free (e.g.,
100 USD).
When to use
- When offering free shipping based on order value for specific countries.
- To advertise free shipping in ads when the condition is met.
- When using the
shippingattribute for offer-level shipping information.
If multiple free shipping thresholds are relevant, submit this attribute up to 25 times per product.
Format
- Type: Number + currency (ISO 4217)
- Repeated field: Yes, up to 25 times per product
- Separator:
country:price_threshold
Formatting examples:
| File format | Example value |
|---|---|
| Text feed | US:100 USD |
CA:150 CAD | |
| XML feed | <g:free_shipping_threshold><g:country>US</g:country><g:price_threshold>100 USD</g:price_threshold></g:free_shipping_threshold> |
Minimum requirements
- Currency must match the offer’s price currency.
- Provide separate values for each country shipped to.
- Avoid conflicting thresholds for the same country.
- Use a dot (
.) as the decimal separator, not a comma.
Conflicting or invalid thresholds can prevent correct free shipping messaging.
SEO Tip
Google will prioritize products with free shipping. Showing a free shipping threshold in free listing can improve ranking, CTR and conversion rates by reducing purchase hesitation.
Pair this with promotional messaging on your landing page for maximum impact.
